The Shepherds Hut at the Tower has proved popular with customers as people really enjoy a decent coffee these days. With our Fracino machines and Green Farm artisan coffee slow roasted in Norfolk that is exactly what you get! Since 27th March we have been serving food, drinks and ice cream all day 10 – 5 from the new Shepherds Hut outside the Naze Tower. This will be in situ for the rest of this year as it allows us to have visitors going up the Tower and also run our tea room but with more space to allow for social distancing. In addition to the Shepherds Hut we are also installing a Wooden Shelter which when not in use for educational visits will be used for seating for the tea rooms with some protection from the elements. These projects enabling us to reopen have only been possible with the grant we received from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage. It has been a lifeline and we are very grateful. We would also like to thank the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic England and Tendring District Council who have supported us along the way.
